Second I-PCC symposium, Nanotec CNR, Lecce
The second symposium of the Italian Pancreatic Cancer Community (I-PCC) was held on June 4th 2025 in the beautiful setting of CNR Nanotec in Lecce, an exceptional venue that welcomed over 130 participants and featured 21 scientific presentations, many of which were delivered by young researchers, PhD students, and postdocs. The event was a resounding success, reaffirming the energy and cohesion of a growing community deeply committed to the fight against pancreatic cancer.
During the symposium, the community officially launched its new website, I-PCC.org, a platform dedicated to sharing knowledge, fostering collaborations, and providing updates on the latest research. In addition, five travel grants (€500 each) were awarded to support the participation of early-career scientists: two grants in memory of LAURA ZILIANI and three generously funded by the ACRONADIA team.
The grant recipients were:
– Rebecca Polidori, University of Milan
– Rossella Migliorino, National Cancer Institute "G. Pascale" IRCCS, Naples
– Giorgia Tiberi, University of Turin
– Simone Mas, University of Palermo
– Federica Rubbino, Humanitas University
The scientific quality of the presentations was outstanding, sparking meaningful discussions and new connections among attendees. The enthusiasm and engagement throughout the event made this symposium a significant milestone for the I-PCC community.
Another important development was the opening of the network to new affiliated laboratories, which can now join the original thirteen founding members. We welcome anyone interested in becoming part of the Italian Pancreatic Cancer Community, we’re excited to grow together and advance our shared mission.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Dr. Loretta del Mercato and her exceptional team for their warm hospitality and impeccable organization, and to AIRC for their valued support.
We are proud to see this network of researchers continue to grow. Together, we can accelerate progress in pancreatic cancer research. See you at the next symposium!
